Richard has 30 years of experience as a teacher with 27 years in the area of Additional Learning Needs. He has held the positions of Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher and Senior
Teacher in various settings, both in the public and independent sectors. He has also previously set up and independent care home with on-site school.

Lynne Mills

Lynne has teaching experience of 31 years, 15 years as Senior Leader in a large Secondary school, 14 years in a Specialist SEBD Residential School and 2 years as Head of Education at an Independent SEBD residential school in a care setting.

Maxine Jones

Maxine has extensive experience working in children’s residential care. She has supported young people with a wide range of complex needs, including emotional and behavioural difficulties, trauma, and safeguarding vulnerabilities.

Maxine is qualified at QCF level 3 and currently working towards her Level 4/5 in Leadership and Management for Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) and is registered with Social Care Wales. She works closely with staff and young people to help create a safe and supportive home environment where everyone feels listened to and respected.

Maxine is passionate about helping young people feel secure, valued, and able to be themselves. She believes in creating a warm, nurturing setting that supports young people to grow in confidence, build positive relationships, and move forward in their lives with the right guidance and encouragement.

Heather Jones

Heather has 8 years’ experience in children’s residential settings at Senior, Deputy and Registered Manager level. She is passionate about the care of young people and has a QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Young People and Young People’s Residential Management) Wales and is registered with Social Care Wales. 

Heather also has a background in education and health care. Heather is committed to creating a warm and caring environment providing every opportunity for a young person to thrive in a holistic and therapeutically aware environment.

Beth Pell

Associate Psychologist &
Senior Behaviour Management Consultant

Beth has worked in the independent sector for 18 years, supporting individuals within the child and adolescent, learning disabilities and mental health fields. She has worked in and managed services within the independent sector, including community and supported living services.

Beth’s interests lie within the adult learning disability and Mental Health field, in residential and supported living settings.

In particular this relates to physically challenging behaviour, self-harming behaviours, sexually harmful behaviours, and working with personality disorders.

Beth currently provides 1:1 therapeutic support to individuals, and works with staff teams around behaviour management and providing training, as well as specialising in conducting psychosexual and cognitive assessments, and complex risk assessments with young people and adults. Beth has a degree in Psychology and has undertaken foundation work in Person Centred Counselling.

Katie Jones

Assistant Psychologist

Katie graduated from Cardiff University in 2016 with an upper-class honours degree in Criminology and Sociology. She worked for two years in social services before moving into counter terrorism policing. 

She returned to Cardiff University to complete a Masters in Psychology, and graduated in 2022 with a distinction. Katie has previously worked as an Assistant Psychologist within HMP Parc, helping people in prison to improve their mental wellbeing through 1-1 therapeutic interventions and small group work. 

She worked with people with traumatic brain injuries, neurodiversities, learning difficulties and problems with substance use. She has also worked as an Assistant Psychologist with the ADDER Project, assisting people with dual diagnosis of substance use difficulties and mental health difficulties. Katie is currently studying a Forensic Psychology Master’s degree with Derby University.
